At Visa Business Plans, we’ve always said that a business plan needs to make sense. It needs to be grounded in reality and written in a way that’s easy for someone without a business or financial background to understand. That’s not a preference—it’s a necessity.
Visa officers aren’t MBAs or financial analysts. That’s why we insist on clear language, simple structure, and content that tells your story accurately and convincingly. We also insist on client participation. Not because we’re trying to make your life harder, but because your input is key to making a business plan that reflects your goals, your business model, and your vision.
And now, the U.S. government has given even more weight to everything we’ve been saying.
The Interview Is Back
As of September 2, 2025, nearly all nonimmigrant visa applicants—including E and L visa applicants—will be required to attend an in-person consular interview, as per the new Department of State policy issued on July 25, 2025.
This change makes one thing crystal clear: You will be asked about your business. You will need to explain what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, and why it makes sense.
Which leads to the question: What will you base your answers on?
If your business plan was built with your involvement, written in simple terms, and customized to your specific case, then you’ll walk into your interview more confident and better prepared. That’s what we give our clients.
If you bought a cheap, templated plan that uses industry jargon and canned content—good luck explaining it.
Business Plans Are Not Fiction
When you submit a business plan as part of your visa petition, you’re making a formal statement to the U.S. government. You’re saying, “This is what I’m doing. This is how I plan to succeed. This is who I’ll hire and when.”
That’s a commitment.
It’s also why we always warn against vendors who offer “bargain” business plans. These documents are written with no real understanding of your business or your immigration goals. They’re sold thousands of times with minimal effort to personalize. Adjudication officers can spot them in seconds. And now, you’ll be the one expected to answer for it—face to face.
A Plan That Works for You—And With You
Our business plans are built with one goal: to make complex ideas simple, and to set our clients up for success. We write plans that help immigration officers understand your model. But we also write them to help you.
Because when you’re sitting across from a consular officer, and you’re asked to explain how your business works or what your five-year plan looks like, you’ll be able to reference something you understand inside and out.
And that can make all the difference.
