L1A (L-1A) Visa Business Plans
Professional, Thorough & Effective
The L1A (L-1A) visa is very popular among foreign businesses, investors, and companies who are seeking to expand their operations, create a new venture or purchase an operating business in the United States. Having a thorough and detailed plan is essential to articulating the need for an L1A (L-1A) visa to immigration officers.

L1-A Business Plans with Job Duties
Our L-1 business plans include a qualifying relationship section, an investment section, and 5-year projections for staffing, revenue, and profit and loss.
We understand the critical importance of L classification. Therefore, we ask immigration attorneys how they intend to classify the beneficiary (executive, people manager, or functional manager). This helps us build a staffing plan and organizational chart, detailing hierarchy and staffing levels.
We craft industry-specific job duties for the beneficiary and projected subordinates for Year 1, breaking down duties into the four prongs of L manager or executive classification and including the percentage of time for each task.

Have Questions?
-
Does a new-office L-1A petition require a business plan?
Yes. USCIS requires evidence that the new U.S. office will support an executive or managerial position within one year, which is typically shown through a business plan detailing staffing plans, organizational structure, and financial projections.
-
What does "managerial or executive capacity" mean for L-1A?
It generally means the person primarily manages the organization (or a department/function), supervises and controls other supervisory or professional employees, has authority over personnel decisions, and exercises discretion over day-to-day operations.
-
Does L-1A lead to a green card?
L-1A executives and managers are well positioned to pursue an EB-1C green card, since the multinational manager/executive criteria closely mirror the L-1A qualifying criteria.
-
How long can I stay in the U.S. on an L-1A visa?
L-1A status can be granted for up to 7 years total (an initial period plus extensions), with new-office L-1A petitions typically starting with a shorter initial approval, often one year.
